FAQ > There's no such thing as a dumb Question! > How much material is removed by electropolishing?

Search the FAQ for entries containing:

Material removal by electropolishing is directly proportional to: process time, temperature, and current passed through the work piece. By manipulating different combinations of these perameters, the amount of material removed by electropolishing may be controlled. Typically during a standard run, material removal is approximately 0.0003" to 0.0007". If the goal of an electropolishing run is material removal then as much as 0.003" of material may be removed. It is always important to review the dimensional tolerances of a component before it is electropolished.
